I felt that there should be no other FF windows open. When FF wanted to reload the open pages at the time of the hang, they were not allowed to open. Since FF hung the last time, the system was rebooted. Restarted FF to file a bug report on last hang. Exception is: .NotConnectedException: Unable to connect to host 127.0.0.1 on port 7055 after 45000 ms. then I upgraded the webdriver to 2.39 which supports firefox 26. System was booted 34 minutes befor this hang. You are right, checking the windows system logs might give some insights on the problem. I can run programs that are part of the OS installation. I haven't checked If I can run other non M$ programs.

The first thing ii ALWAYS do when getting a new computer or reinstalling the OS is to install Firefox first. Is there any reasons why this is a bad idea? If possible, how can I turn off UAC to see if that makes a difference.Īs a note.I haven't even tried to run other programs because this is a new install. This is also why I turned off the Windows Restore option and plan to use the snapshots instead. Since this is a VM, there is no need for such draconian security measures ( I can always revert to an earlier snapshot if things get messed up. It may be caused by UAC interfering with the program startup.
Firefox not responding win7 windows 7#
I am experienced with windows and have Windows 7 installed on one of my PHYSICAL computers and can run Firefox without any problems. Program Location C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla\Firefox\Firefox.exe "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" I tried to run it as administrator and I get the Windows generated pop-up box saying. Upon double-clicking on the Firefox icon, the mouse cursor changes to an hourglass for less than half a second, reverts to its normal shape and nothing happens. You are correct, the Firefox window does not show. Jul 2010, 22:46 Primary OS: openSUSE VBox Version: OSE other Guest OSses: Windows 7 (64 bit)

Of course, it works within the guest and also within the host but won't copy between the host and the guest. As an afterthought, I tried to remove Firefox and reinstall it but the windows remove program utility reports that no programs are installed.Īs an additional problem, the clipboard doesn't work. what am I doing wrong? I am using NAT as the networking option and I have enabled the network adapter. I suspect that there are no networking problems because IE does work. ( As is the case with many people, I hate IE.) I tried to run Firefox as administrator which also does not work. When using the guest (Win 7), Internet Explorer works but I just installed Firefox (version 3.6) and it doesn't run. I am running OpenSuse 11.2 as a host and Windows 7 (64 bit) as a guest. I am new to VirtualBox so I probably am making some mistake.
